A transcript is not a commitment
Otter and Granola are good at writing down what was said. The useful part of a meeting is the date someone agreed to, three weeks later.
Most meeting tools join as a participant. Oppulence Desktop records the room you are already in. The file lives on your disk. Transcription can run without uploading the audio.
On macOS 14.2 and later, a native sidecar records microphone and system audio. Other platforms use a renderer fallback. That difference is real. We will not advertise native capture as a Windows feature.
You can keep the recorder you already like
Desktop can pull Granola and Fireflies notes into the local vault. Oppulence is not asking you to replace a recorder. It is asking you to keep the agreement after the transcript folder goes stale.
Voice is a separate dictation and meeting app. It is not the ledger. They are different downloads.
